Wild Night Out – Expedition!
Go further. Stay out longer. Wake up in the mountains.
About Your Adventure
Wild Night Out – Expedition is an overnight mountain adventure in North Wales, taking your mountain journey one step further as we head into the Wild Night – Expedition takes your mountain adventure one step further. We’ll meet in the afternoon, pack our rucksacks and head into the mountains together, carrying what we need for the night ahead. Along the way, you’ll start learning the skills that make an overnight mountain journey possible — from planning our route and navigating through the landscape to choosing a suitable place to stop and understanding how to make ourselves comfortable outdoors. Then we make camp. As evening settles over the mountains, we’ll prepare something warm, spend time outside and experience what the hills are like when most people have gone home. Depending on the conditions, we’ll explore some practical expedition skills too — the sort of little skills and tricks that make spending time outdoors easier, safer and considerably more enjoyable. And eventually, it’s time to crawl into your sleeping bag and spend the night in the mountains. Then comes one of the best bits. Waking up. If the weather is kind, perhaps there’ll be a sunrise. There will definitely be breakfast. And after packing everything away, we’ll make our way back through the mountains with one final challenge — leaving our overnight spot exactly as we found it. You don’t need previous camping or expedition experience. This is designed to give you the confidence and practical skills to experience your first mountain night in a supportive, relaxed environment. One afternoon. One night. Two days in the mountains — and quite possibly the beginning of a whole new kind of adventure. What You’ll Need An overnight mountain adventure needs a little more equipment than our Wild Days — but please don’t let that put you off. As a guide, you’ll need: • Walking boots or sturdy walking shoes with good grip • Waterproof jacket and waterproof trousers • Warm layers for the evening and overnight • Hat and gloves • A suitable rucksack • Sleeping bag • Sleeping mat • Suitable tent or overnight shelter • Headtorch • Water bottle • Food and snacks for the expedition • Any personal medication you may need • Sun cream and a sun hat when the forecast calls for it Don’t have all the equipment? Please don’t go shopping just yet! You’ll be able to bring your own suitable equipment, and we’re also developing options to help with some of the overnight kit you may not already ow
