Walking… but with your hands involved. Wild Day – Scramble Together is a family scrambling experience in North Wales, designed for adults and young people who want to share a more adventurous mountain day together. Wild Day Out – Scramble Together is where your mountain adventure gets a little more exciting. We’ll leave the straightforward paths behind and head into rockier terrain, where you’ll start using your hands as well as your feet to make your way through the mountains. We’ll choose a route that suits the group and introduce you to scrambling at a comfortable pace. Along the way, you’ll learn how to spot good hand and footholds, move confidently over rock, stay balanced and start making your own decisions about the best way through the terrain. There may be moments when you look up and think, “Are we really going up there?” Quite possibly. And we’ll show you how. This isn’t about being fearless or pushing you into something you don’t want to do. It’s about learning new skills, solving problems as you go and discovering just how satisfying it feels to tackle something that initially looked a little daunting. By the end of the day, you’ll have experienced a more adventurous side of the mountains, developed new movement skills and hopefully discovered that scrambling opens up a whole new world of places to explore. No previous scrambling experience is needed. Just bring your enthusiasm, a willingness to try something new and perhaps a little sense of adventure. What You’ll Need You don’t need lots of specialist mountain kit to join us, but you will need to come prepared for a full day outdoors. Please bring: • Walking boots or sturdy walking shoes with good grip • Waterproof jacket and waterproof trousers • Warm layers — even when the valley feels warm, mountain summits can be chilly • A small rucksack • Lunch, snacks and enough water for the day • Hat and gloves • Any personal medication you may need • Sun cream and a sun hat when the forecast calls for it We’ll send you a full kit list and joining information before your adventure, so don’t worry if you’re unsure about anything. Need some kit? Please ask us. We may be able to help with some items or suggest affordable options — not having all the gear shouldn’t be the thing that stops you getting into the mountains.
