Wild Night Out – Explore Together is a family evening mountain walk in North Wales, designed for adults and young people to share a little adventure together. Beginning in daylight, you’ll head into the mountains together as the landscape slowly changes around you. Along the way, we’ll introduce some simple navigation, explore the hills and watch as evening arrives and familiar surroundings begin to feel very different. As daylight fades, the headtorches come out. We’ll experience the mountains after dark, stop somewhere along the way for something warm and enjoy that wonderful feeling of being outdoors when most people have already headed home. It’s designed for adults and young people to experience together — whether that’s parent and child, grandparent and grandchild, aunt, uncle, older sibling or simply two generations wanting to share an adventure. There’s no camping and you don’t need previous mountain experience. This is about spending time together, trying something a little different and perhaps discovering a new shared love of the outdoors. What You’ll Need You don’t need lots of specialist mountain kit to join us, but everyone taking part will need to come prepared for an evening outdoors as the temperature drops. Please bring: • Walking boots or sturdy walking shoes with good grip • Waterproof jacket and waterproof trousers • Warm layers — evenings in the mountains can get chilly quickly • A small rucksack • A drink and some snacks • Hat and gloves • Any personal medication you may need • A headtorch if you have one No headtorch? No problem. BHW can provide one for you — just let us know when you book. For young people: please make sure clothing, waterproofs and footwear fit comfortably and are suitable for spending several hours outdoors. We’ll send you a full kit list and joining information before your adventure, so don’t worry if you’re unsure about anything. Need some kit? Please ask us. We may be able to help with some items or suggest affordable options — not having all the gear shouldn’t be the thing that stops you getting into the mountains. You don’t need specialist mountain kit or previous experience. Once you’ve booked, we’ll send you everything you need to prepare, including what to bring, the exact meeting point and all the final details for your Wild Night Out Together.
